Mutual Fund Asset Flows "Healthy" But Losing Pace - Morningstar

Inflows for long-term mutual funds stood at a “healthy” $37. 8 billion in April, but continued to moderate from levels seen earlier this year, according to Morningstar data . Inflows for US equity funds slowed to $895 million, their lowest intake this year.

The US has been identified as the best market for fund investors, whilst South Africa has been rated as the worst, according to a new study by investment researcher Morningstar. Morningstar's Global Fund Investor Experience report assesses the experiences of mutual fund investors in 24 countries across North America, Europe, Asia and Africa and is based on criteria including investor protection, transparency, fees, taxation and investment distribution . Each country was assigned a letter grade for each category, which was then used to produce an overall country grade.

Rockefeller & Co: Further Record Highs For Equities Won't Be A Surprise

Although equity markets have been strong, further record nominal highs will be no cause for surprise, with the US economy proving to be resilient, the chief investment officer of Rockefeller & Co says in a note. On April 11, the S&P 500 Index of US stocks set a closing high of 1,593 . 37 and has come close to that level since.

Strong Growth Potential As Manufacturers Move Back To US – Brown Advisory

The US is in the early stages of a “manufacturing renaissance,” with firms moving their manufacturing operations back to the US, says US investment house Brown Advisory. This, the firm said, means that the country offers investors strong and sustainable growth potential . Brown reports that, in the past two years, many global manufacturers have “re-shored” to the US, taking advantage of the dollar’s weakness relative to the euro and the yuan, competitively priced real estate in rural areas (compared to coastal China), and labour and energy costs.

Global investor confidence fell from February’s reading of 91. 4 to 88 . 0 this month, driven primarily by a drop in North American sentiment, according to State Street Global Market’s Investor Confidence Index.
